SDG Trivia Wheel
Interactive Game Sample
TITLE: "SDG 'Pub'lic Trivia Wheel"

TOOLS USED IN DEVELOPMENT: Genially, Canva

CONTEXT: The UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a meaningful and unitive lens for helping us recognize and tackle together global challenges, such as poverty, inequality, and sustainability. So, we created this free trivia tool to raise "pub"lic awareness of the SDGs. Our SDG "Pub" Trivia Wheel introduces learners to all 17 of the SDGs as they spin the wheel and test their knowledge by answering a trivia question based on each of the SDGs.

In addition to being used by universities, the wheel has already been used by various non-profit and NGO organizations. For example, NAFSA, the premier International Education association, has used it for professional development training with their own staff. The wheel was also used at the 1st International Creative Event, a European conference on April 4, 2024 that focused on how art and culture can contribute towards achieving the 17 UN SDGs through tourism.

Travel Bingo Carbon Calculator Tool
Interactive Game Sample
TITLE: "Travel Bingo" Carbon Calculator Tool

TOOLS USED IN DEVELOPMENT: Genially, Canva

CONTEXT: The “Travel Bingo” Carbon Calculator Tool is used to promote the United Nation's "Sustainable Development Goals" 9, 11, and 13. Designed to promote awareness of the environmental impact of our transportation choices, this bingo encourages choosing "aviation alternative" means of travel when possible. Rather than using "fast travel" methods, such as short-haul flights, that prioritize speed and cost over environmental impact, our “Travel Bingo” highlights mass transportation options and slower travel methods. The "Slow Travel" movement itself encourages us to think about the means by which we journey to our destination as much as the destination itself. By choosing to travel just a “wee bit” slower and with others, we can soak in more of the culture and place around us and help the environment too.
