Causes We Support
Because at WorldKind we believe . . .
We are a "for-purpose" company that is committed to using our time, talent, and treasure to support the great work of the organizations below.
So, when you design, journey, or learn with WorldKind, you can know that you're also helping to support making education more accessible around the world too.
YESLiberia, which stands for "Youth Empowerment Services," is a Liberian-led and volunteer-run NGO* that is trustworthy, effective, and fiscally responsible. The goal of the organization is to empower young people through meaningful service-learning opportunities in education, healthcare, and technology.
YESLiberia's flagship program is TAP (Tuition Assistance Program), which covers the tuition costs of at least 100 Liberia student scholars each year. To date, we've paid the tuition of over 7,694 students in Liberia, but that's just the start of what YESLiberia does.
To learn more and to join the 123 other volunteers from 18 different countries who have made the work of YESLiberia possible, go to YESLiberia's website now.
*YESLiberia is a registered charity in Liberia and a 501c3 charity organization in the USA recognized by the Internal Revenue Service since July 2009. All donations are tax-deductible.
Learn about YESLiberia's "Hop on the Bus" project
We've been partnering with YesLiberia for almost three years now on "Hop on the Bus," which aims to provide public school transportation for students in Monrovia, Liberia. We've been busy speaking, writing, fundraising, and designing promotional materials (such as the interactive storybook below) for this project and are happy to say that we finally have enough funds to buy the school bus. BUT, and there always seems to be a but, with the rising cost of fuel and the closure of key shipping lanes, the cost to SHIP the bus to Liberia has dramatically increased since the start of this project. So, we can buy the bus, but we're still waiting to ship the bus.
If you're interested in learning more about this project and how you can help, read our interactive storybook below. We designed the storybook in a way that hopefully the story easy enough for children to understand and learn about the challenges of receiving an education in another country but the interactive links also provide plenty of additional information for adults who want to go "under the hood" of our project.
