Instructional Designer

A lifetime of learning, along with a career in corporate and academic settings working with people from around the world, helps Cindy Singleton respond to the unique needs of today's adult learners.

Cindy was instrumental in the development of some of WorldKind’s animated videos. While she enjoys creating stories through animation, Cindy’s expertise lies in researching and simplifying complex ideas into simplified chunks of information and scaffolding them to make learning relevant and meaningful. She particularly enjoys building positive work culture and projects relating to professional development, change management, and process improvement. Some say Cindy has grit, and she believes grit is what helps make her unique.

Most of all, Cindy enjoys helping others. It might be the look on a learner's face or a comment in an end-of-course evaluation that reveals a learner has experienced an aha moment, achieved a goal, or applied a new skill because of a relevant and engaging learning experience. This work allows Cindy to exercise her creativity and apply her technology skills. Likewise, learning tends to be reciprocal, and she values the teachings and diversity of others.

After earning a master’s degree in Adult Education & Training, Cindy joined a non-profit university with the majority of students being international learners. After eight years, reorganization prompted her to focus on eLearning, and she continues to grow her career by learning new tools and best practices. She participates in IDOL courses Academy, the first trade school for instructional design, and other industry events.

She is a Pacific Northwest native and enjoys all that the region offers, especially the outdoors, including big trees, clouds, water, and bicycling!
